Halliburton Adds to Energy Services Management Team

HOUSTON--(BUSINESS WIRE)--Jan. 13, 2003--John Gibson, Halliburton's Energy Services Group chief executive officer, announced today the addition of two new members to the Energy Services Group's senior executive leadership team - Tim Probert, formerly president and chief executive officer of Input Output Inc., and Lew Watts, a former Director of Shell's International Gas & Power Business. The Energy Services Group is a business segment of Halliburton (NYSE:HAL).

Probert will join Halliburton on Jan. 20, 2003 as the senior executive of a newly created division called Drilling and Formation Evaluation, Halliburton Energy Services (HES). The division consists of three current product service lines - Logging and Perforating, Sperry-Sun, and Security DBS. "Integration of these discrete product lines will yield greater value for both our customers and Halliburton," said Gibson, "Tim is well known in the industry as a leader who can drive positive change throughout an organization."

A graduate of the University of London with a BSc degree in geology and geography, Probert's background reflects experience in virtually all of Halliburton's businesses. Before becoming president and CEO of Input Output Inc, Probert served in several senior executive roles at Baker Hughes, where he developed a successful strategy to drive growth and competency throughout his organizations.

Watts has joined Halliburton as the senior executive of the Solutions Group, HES. Halliburton's Solutions Group, which encompasses Integrated Solutions/Integrated Technology Products, is responsible for reaching beyond product service line barriers to create multi-disciplinary solutions and products for customers.

"We are excited about the experience and leadership that Lew brings to this very customer-focused group," said Gibson, "He is known for his talent in developing wise and innovative business strategies, leading, and then delivering results."

Upon obtaining a Ph.D. in geology from the University of Reading, UK, Watts joined Shell in 1977 as a research geologist in the Hague. During his tenure with Shell, Watts was in charge of valuable assets, profit and loss, and business development in the oil capitals of the world. After serving as deputy regional director of Africa and the Middle East, he became global vice president of Shell's E&P strategy, portfolio, and economics before being appointed a Director of Shell International Gas in 1999, responsible for existing assets and new business development in Africa and South America.
