Halliburton Company Announces Global Business Development Executive Vice President

DALLAS, May 1 /PRNewswire/ -- Halliburton Company (NYSE: HAL) announced today the appointment of John Kennedy as Executive Vice President. In this role, Kennedy will be responsible for global business development and will work with Halliburton's customers to ensure that they benefit from the wide array of the company's capabilities. The appointment of Kennedy is effective immediately.

Kennedy, a 23-year Halliburton and Dresser veteran most recently served as the Chief Operating Officer of the company's Brown & Root Energy Services (BRES) business unit.

"John's business experience makes him a tremendous asset to Halliburton's management team as we enhance the industries leading suite of products and services we provide our customers," said Halliburton President Dave Lesar.

Before the merger between Halliburton and Dresser, Kennedy served Dresser in the following leadership roles: President, Dresser Enterprises (1997); President & Chief Operating Officer, Kellogg Oil & Gas (1995); President, Dresser Drilling & Production Services (1993); and President & Chief Executive Officer, Dresser Atlas (1988). Kennedy also managed planning activities for Dresser's Oilfield Services Group and began his career as sales manager for Dresser Atlas in the United Kingdom (1977).

Kennedy is a graduate of University College, Dublin, with a Bachelor of Electrical Engineering, M.SC and served as a Sloan Fellow at the London Business School.
