Halliburton (NYSE: HAL) announced today the opening of its new
Technology Center at the Federal University of Rio de Janeiro (UFRJ)
Technology Park, located at Ilha do Fundão, Rio de Janeiro, Brazil. The
center provides the setting for collaboration as the Company works with
the country’s leading universities and customer research groups to
establish a global center of expertise for deepwater and mature fields.

The 7,062-square-meter technology center is located on three floors and
includes specialized laboratories, a collaboration room, a testing area,
and conference and training rooms. Halliburton has provided products and
services to Brazil’s energy industry for nearly 60 years. Today, the
Company operates in 11 locations across Brazil and employs approximately
2,000 people in the country.
