HOUSTON--(BUSINESS WIRE)--Sep. 29, 2009--
The Halliburton Foundation announced today that it has endowed an
engineering faculty chair at Texas A&M University for a total of $1
million. Texas A&M University former students and friends of the
university working at Halliburton assisted in contributions to the $1
million donation. Since 1981, Halliburton’s monetary support for Texas
A&M has totaled approximately $7 million.
“We are most appreciative to Halliburton and its employees for choosing
to make a wise investment in the future through this gift,” said Dr. G.
Kemble Bennett, vice chancellor and dean of Texas A&M Engineering. “This
endowment will provide the means to keep Texas A&M competitive in
recruiting and retaining top faculty members who will enhance the
educational experience of countless students studying under holders of
the Halliburton Chair Professor.”
Currently, Halliburton hires a large number of Texas A&M University
graduates annually.

the number of students joining the company straight from the university.”
Distributions from the endowment can fund a variety of educational
enrichments, including student support, faculty development, curriculum
enhancement and research initiatives.
