Landmark Gives $33.0 Million in Integrated E&P Software and Services; Ten Universities Benefit From Company's Worldwide Grant Program

DALLAS, Oct 29, 2001 (BUSINESS WIRE) -- Landmark Graphics Corp., a wholly owned business unit of Halliburton Company (NYSE:HAL), today announced that it has awarded $33.0 million in integrated software and services to ten universities. Six universities received renewals of their current grants and four universities are new to Landmark's grant program.

Universities whose existing grants were renewed include the University of Hawaii, Honolulu, Hawaii that received $1.9 million; Indiana University, Bloomington, IN, $3.2 million; Polish Academy of Sciences, Krakow, Poland, $172 thousand; Louisiana State University, Baton Rouge, LA, $5.6 million; Columbia University, Palisades, NY, $4.1 million; and the University of Oklahoma, Norman, OK, $5.0 million.

The universities selected to receive new grants are Stanford University, Stanford, CA, $2.6 million; Imperial College of Science Technology and Medicine, London, England, $4.5 million; the University of Texas at El Paso, El Paso, TX, $5.5 million; and the University of Vienna, Vienna, Austria, $506 thousand.

Universities offering geology, geophysics, petroleum engineering, computer science, physics and mathematics degrees are eligible to apply for Landmark university grants. The Landmark Global University Grant Program's governing board meets quarterly to review all applications.
